In the course of sharing information about the building of the fourth church, I used information written by John T. McKnight. He was the secretary of the building committee in 1915-16. There was something about his style of writing that seemed familiar to me. I found out he was the uncle of Nellie McKnight, a former historian of our church. who was instrumental in the planning of the 50 th Anniversary of our church building. Both Nellie and her uncle embedded a bit of wry wit whenever they typed up a report.
On September 18 th , our worship service will follow the program of both 1916 and 1966 to celebrate the 100 th anniversary of our church building which is known as a meeting house. Chas Gross will read the Building Committee’s Report that John T. McKnight wrote and read at the Dedicatory Service which was held on August 17, 1916... please look for the September Caller on Spetember 1st to read the entire article.
